In Alabama I headed for Huntsville and the Space and Rocket Museum. Quite awesome.  Seeing pictures and watching launches on TV does not convey the size, complexity, and engineering of these creations. This site is quite large, well put together and designed to get you involved. Well worth the visit.

From there I headed east and found the DeSoto Falls and the A.A. Miller dam. A pleasant spot, beautiful falls, and a nice drive getting there.
